Collaboration between Lemtek UI and PHE OSES in Process Safety Evaluation for Oil and Gas Facilities
Project Owner :
The Institute for Technology at Universitas Indonesia (Lemtek UI) has established a collaboration with Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore South East Sumatra (PHE OSES) on a project titled Revalidation Study of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Identification of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECE). The study covers several business units owned by PHE OSES, including the North Business Unit, Central Business Unit, South Business Unit, Pabelokan Power Plant, as well as several PHA-related projects. This initiative aims to comprehensively reassess process safety risks in order to prevent potential major accidents, by employing internationally recognized methods such as Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Major Accident Hazard (MAH), SECE analysis, and Performance Standards for SECE (PS SECE).

Through this study, Lemtek UI supports the systematic identification and control of operational risks, contributing to enhanced workplace safety and operational reliability. These efforts not only safeguard employees and assets but also help to minimize the potential impact on the surrounding environment and local communities.

At the conclusion of the project, a five-day dissemination session was conducted at Hotel Aston Simatupang, Jakarta. The event served as a platform to present the study results directly to all stakeholders involved. This collaboration reflects a strong synergy between the energy industry and a leading state university in strengthening safety standards within Indonesia’s national energy sector.
Lemtek UI Supports the Transformation of Universitas Indonesia Station into a Sustainable Mobility and Lifestyle Hub
Project Owner :
In an effort to support the development of modern and environmentally friendly public transportation infrastructure, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned railway company, has partnered with the Institute for Research and Community Services of Universitas Indonesia (Lemtek UI) to implement the Design Development Project for Universitas Indonesia Station. This project is being carried out from May to July 2025 as a continuation of the station design competition and a formal cooperation agreement between PT KAI and Universitas Indonesia.

The transformation of Universitas Indonesia Station aims not only to enhance its function as a transit point but also to redefine it as an integrated mobility hub, public space, and sustainable lifestyle area. This initiative reflects a multi-stakeholder collaboration involving key institutions such as the Directorate of Operations, Facility Maintenance, and Asset Management (DOPFMA UI), the Directorate of Strategic Partnerships (DKS UI), as well as major state-owned enterprises including Pertamina and Pertagas. Together, these organizations are committed to building a future-oriented and inclusive urban mobility ecosystem.

Lemtek UI applies an adaptive and contextual design approach, emphasizing functionality, inclusivity, and sustainability. The development concept integrates public facilities such as reading spaces, bicycle lanes, themed commercial zones, and multimodal transportation access. Environmentally, the project adopts green building principles as a core foundation, incorporating energy-efficient systems, effective water management, and green landscaping to enhance comfort and environmental preservation.

By combining academic strength with professional technical expertise, Lemtek UI plays a strategic role in shaping the future of smarter and more sustainable public transportation within academic areas. This project also reinforces Lemtek UI’s position as a trusted partner in national infrastructure development, driven by innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
LEMTEK UI Supports the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Development in the Evaluation and Strategic Review of National Housing Programs
Project Owner :
The Institute for Technology of Universitas Indonesia (LEMTEK UI) has once again been entrusted by the government as a strategic partner for policy studies. In an official meeting attended by Mr. Maruarar Sirait, Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Development (Ministry of PKP), along with echelon I officials and the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, LEMTEK UI received a mandate to develop an evaluation and strategic review for two national housing programs: the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) and the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS).

This collaboration aims to conduct a comprehensive study on the effectiveness of program implementation, analyze their socio-economic impacts, and formulate strategic recommendations to support the achievement of future targets. One of the key focuses of this study is to strengthen the national housing provision targets through the FLPP and BSPS programs in 2025.

Initial discussions on the scope and technical requirements of the study have commenced and will continue through a series of virtual coordination meetings with the echelon I technical team from the Ministry of PKP. The results of this study are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of more effective and better-targeted housing policies in Indonesia.
The Spirit of Qurban at Lemtek UI on Eid al-Adha 1446 H
Project Owner :
Arief Rahman Hakim Mosque, Salemba – Jakarta, 10 Dzulhijjah 1446 H

A sense of solemnity and togetherness filled the atmosphere as the Institute for Technology, Universitas Indonesia (Lemtek UI), once again carried out the qurban ritual in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1446 H. The event took place at the Arief Rahman Hakim Mosque, located right next to the Lemtek UI building in Salemba.

This year, Lemtek UI sacrificed two goats and one cow as an expression of social care and gratitude for the blessings received. The ritual slaughter of the two goats was conducted directly by Saifullah Fil Ardhi, representing Lemtek UI, in accordance with Islamic law and principles.

The qurban activity was made possible through strong synergy and collaboration with the local community. The distribution of qurban meat to nearby residents was assisted by Mrs. Dian, while coordination with the mosque committee was managed by Mr. Urip. Their contributions ensured that the entire process ran smoothly and in an orderly manner.

Overall coordination of the event was overseen by Mr. Anang, who served as the Head of the Qurban Committee as well as part of the operational team of Arief Rahman Hakim Mosque, UI. Under his leadership, the slaughtering, packaging, and distribution processes were executed with efficiency and a strong sense of communal spirit.

The involvement of local residents in the meat processing and packaging fostered a greater sense of mutual cooperation. The qurban meat was carefully packaged and distributed to eligible community members, embodying the value of sharing which lies at the heart of the qurban ritual.

This annual event serves as a reminder that qurban is not merely about the act of slaughtering livestock, but more profoundly about uniting hearts, sharing sustenance, and strengthening bonds of brotherhood within our social lives.
