Technical Consultancy Services for Building Leakage at the University of Indonesia Library
After 14 years of operation, the University of Indonesia Library has experienced degradation and numerous leakages in the perimeter areas of the building. These leakage problems have disrupted spatial quality, created uncomfortable interior conditions, and led to continuous maintenance works that could not be completed since the root causes remain unresolved. The problems have also caused damage to the supporting framework of the andesite stone façade, which may potentially lead to more severe issues.
Based on the overall situation, inspections or assessments are required for the University of Indonesia Library building. The implementation of this activity will be carried out in collaboration with the Institute for Technology at the University of Indonesia (LEMTEK UI), under the project title Technical Consultancy Services for Building Leakage at the University of Indonesia Library. A Survey Team will be established to carry out a tiered methodology consisting of data collection, site surveys, area mapping, documentation, and analysis, with the expected outcome in the form of technical recommendations.
Through this activity, LEMTEK UI hopes that the work conducted will serve as a reference for the subsequent stages of implementation, particularly the renovation phase of the University of Indonesia Library building. Furthermore, the outputs from this consultancy are expected to provide considerations or recommendations for the building owner, funding agencies, and prospective planners who will address the building’s problems.
