LEMTEK UI Supports DKI Jakarta Transportation Department in Establishing Standardized Wage and Crewing Systems for Vessels
Lembaga Teknologi FTUI (LEMTEK UI) has been entrusted by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department to develop a strategic study on the standardization of wages and crewing systems for vessels. This trust reflects LEMTEK UI’s capacity as a government partner in formulating public policies grounded in in-depth research, regulatory analysis, and accurate field data.
The five-month project will serve as a strategic reference for the DKI Jakarta Government in managing its fleet of workboats, patrol boats, cargo vessels, and passenger ships. LEMTEK UI brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts in law, economics, maritime affairs, and human resource management to ensure that the recommendations not only meet national and international standards but are also aligned with the region’s budgetary capacity.
Through this study, LEMTEK UI directly contributes to enhancing the professionalism and welfare of vessel crews by considering work-related risks, career progression, and fair wage standards. The outcomes are expected to foster a safe, competitive, and sustainable maritime ecosystem, serving as a model for developing sea transportation policies in other regions across Indonesia.
