On Friday, July 18th, 2025, the atmosphere at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) campus was vibrant and full of energy. The entire academic community and supporting units gathered to celebrate the peak of FTUI's Anniversary, bringing forth a strong spirit of togetherness and appreciation for FTUI's long-standing journey as a center of excellence in engineering and innovation.
The Lembaga Teknologi UI (Lemtek UI) team attended the celebration in full strength, led directly by Professor Asep Handaya Saputra, Director of Lemtek UI. The team actively participated in a series of events held throughout the day — from the colorful Department Parade, the announcement of winners of sports and non-sports competitions, to the highly anticipated lucky draw session that added to the festive atmosphere.
Lemtek UI also took part in the official group photo session organized by the committee, serving as both a documentation moment and a symbol of solidarity within the extended Lemtek UI family.
Our presence at this event was more than just participation — it was a reflection of Lemtek UI's ongoing commitment to being an integral part of FTUI’s academic ecosystem, not only through technical contributions and applied expertise but also by fostering a collaborative, healthy, and sustainable organizational culture.
The Institute for Technology Research and Development at Universitas Indonesia (Lemtek UI) has been entrusted by Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V., a subsidiary of Harbour Energy, to conduct a surge evaluation study of the firewater systems at the Anoa Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility and the Gajah Baru platform.
The project is scheduled to run from January 2025 through July 2026, with activities taking place in the Natuna Sea area. The core task of this study involves simulating surge phenomena within the firewater distribution system using the Pipenet software application.
The primary objective of the study is to reassess the performance and reliability of the existing fire protection system, particularly the distribution network for firefighting water. Lemtek UI applies a data-driven engineering approach to analyze system dynamics and deliver technical recommendations that enhance safety and support the sustainable operation of offshore energy facilities.
