Jakarta Wastewater Management Regional Public Company (Perusahaan Umum Daerah Pengelolaan Air Limbah Jaya / Perumda Paljaya) continues to enhance the quality of domestic wastewater management services in Jakarta. Along with increasing operational needs and service standards, a more adaptive tariff formulation is required. To this end, Paljaya has partnered with the Institute for Technology at the University of Indonesia (Lemtek UI) to develop a tariff study based on measurable and accountable technical and financial modeling.

Through a structured approach involving service pattern analysis, cost component breakdown, and revenue stream projection, Lemtek UI designed tariff simulation scenarios while taking into account inflation projections for the next four years. The study was presented during a meeting with the Supervisory Agency for Regional-Owned Enterprises (Badan Pembinaan Badan Usaha Milik Daerah / BPBUMD) of DKI Jakarta on July 16, 2025, as documented in the meeting photo above. As a result, the proposed tariff adjustment was approved in principle, reinforcing stakeholder confidence in the analysis conducted by the Lemtek UI team.

The outcomes of this study are presented in the form of a policy recommendation report, serving as a reference for both Paljaya’s management and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta (Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta) in setting service tariffs. Supported by multidisciplinary experts in environmental engineering, economics, and finance, Lemtek UI delivers solutions that not only focus on service sustainability but also provide added value for the community and the city.
