Lemtek UI Receives a Visit from the Government of Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, for the Finalization of the 2025–2045 Waste Management Master Plan

Banjar Regency in South Kalimantan Province is currently undertaking improvements and a transition from a landfill-based waste disposal system to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly waste management system. Considering existing regulations, challenges, and opportunities, a comprehensive and measurable Waste Management Master Plan is required.

The Government of Banjar Regency, through the Department of Public Housing, Settlement Areas, and Environment (DPRKPLH), has appointed Lemtek UI to develop the 2025–2045 Waste Management Master Plan (RIPS), which is intended to be comprehensive, practical, and aligned with national policies. The preparation of the master plan began on 10 September 2025 with a duration of 110 calendar days. The activities include the collection of primary and secondary data (coordination with local government, field observations, waste sampling, and interviews), data analysis (technical, financial, regulatory, institutional, and community participation aspects), Public Consultation I, preparation of the draft RIPS, Public Consultation II, and the preparation of the Final RIPS Report.

On 19 December 2025, a delegation from the Government of Banjar Regency visited Lemtek UI’s Salemba office to discuss the results of Public Consultation II, which had been conducted on 15 December 2025 in Banjar Regency. The delegation was led by Ikhwansyah, MKes, Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development, and was attended by Akhmad Bayhaqie, MT, Head of DPRKPLH; Herlina Maulidah, MT, from Litbang Bappeda; Achmad Zulyadaini, MSi, from BPKAD; Muhammad Chandra, MM, from DPMD; Ahmad Rizal Putra, MH, Head of the Legal Bureau of the Regional Secretariat; Gusty Rendy Firmansyah, MM, Secretary of DPRKPLH; Sutiyono, MM, Head of the PSLB3 Division of DPRKLH; as well as several staff members from DPRKLH.

From Lemtek UI, the meeting was attended by Dr. Wisnu Isvara, MT, General Manager; Gian Ratulangi, ST, Environmental & Water Resources Manager; Fieneshia Sevita, MT, Business Development Manager; Dr. Astryd Viandila Dahlan, Team Leader; along with several experts and supporting staff. The outcomes of the discussion on Public Consultation II will serve as inputs for the finalization of the RIPS and the draft regional regulation, which is scheduled to be presented at the end of December 2025 in Banjar Regency. The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.
