Lemtek UI Engages Experts in an Internal Workshop on Low Altitude Economy (LAE) and Digital Twin at the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas)
The rapid growth of the global digital economy has created new opportunities to drive Indonesia’s development transformation. One rapidly emerging field is the Low Altitude Economy (LAE), which refers to economic activities conducted in low-altitude airspace (below 1,000 meters) utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or drone technology. The potential of LAE is extensive, encompassing strategic sectors such as logistics and goods mobility, precision agriculture, tourism, and healthcare services.
In parallel, Digital Twin technology is increasingly recognized as an important instrument to support data-driven and simulation-based development planning. This technology enables the replication of physical spaces into digital models that can be used for spatial planning, transportation management, infrastructure management, and disaster mitigation.
As a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) and CT Group Vietnam, signed on 20 August 2025, concrete steps are required to formulate strategic directions for the development of these two fields in Indonesia.
As an initial step, the Directorate of Infrastructure, Digital Ecosystems, and Digital Security of Bappenas, led by Andiyanto Haryoko, MSi, organized an internal workshop to align perspectives and enhance understanding of LAE and Digital Twin technologies. The workshop was held on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at Harris Hotel Bekasi. Experts presented by Lemtek UI included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara (ICT expert from FTUI) and Ibrahim Kholilul Rohman, PhD (Digital Economy expert from FEBUI).
The workshop was attended by relevant internal staff of Bappenas, as well as a representative of CT Group Vietnam, Mr. Indra. The event was also attended by Lemtek UI management, represented by Dr. Wisnu Isvara, MT; Fieneshia Sevita, MT; and Varianka Yenn, ST. Subsequently, Lemtek UI will be assigned by Bappenas to formulate the roadmap for the development of Low Altitude Economy (LAE) and Digital Twin in early 2026, involving all relevant stakeholders.
