Revitalization of North Jakarta’s Water Infrastructure: DED Planning for the New Sunter Utara Pump House and Sunter Utara Reservoir Area Development

As a strategic effort to enhance flood resilience and improve water resource management efficiency in the coastal region of DKI Jakarta, the Institute for Technology at the University of Indonesia (Lemtek UI) has been entrusted with developing the Detail Engineering Design (DED) for the Revitalization of the New Sunter Utara Pump House and the Development of the Sunter Utara Reservoir Area. This assignment integrates expertise in civil engineering, hydraulics, environmental engineering, and architecture to design a modern water control system that is both functional in flood management and mindful of architectural aesthetics within the urban landscape.

During the planning phase, the Lemtek UI team applies a Building Information Modeling (BIM Revit) approach to ensure precise integration between the pump house structure, existing drainage networks, and the spatial configuration of the reservoir area. Comprehensive analyses include hydrodynamics, geotechnical evaluation, material performance assessment, and mechanical–electrical system design to produce an efficient, reliable, and field-ready engineering solution.

This project underscores Lemtek UI’s role in strengthening the water infrastructure capacity of DKI Jakarta—through applied research and technical design that emphasize system reliability and long-term benefits for the community.
