The program continued with remarks delivered by Prof. Dr. Asep Handaya Saputra, Head of Lemtek UI. In his speech, he expressed gratitude that everyone had been given the opportunity by Allah SWT to observe the fasting month of Ramadan. He also expressed appreciation for the many blessings bestowed upon Lemtek UI employees, which contributed to the organization achieving outstanding performance in 2025 as a business unit under FTUI, with hopes for even greater development in the future. He also conveyed his appreciation to Prof. Dr. Dalhar Susanto and Dr. Evi Anggraheni for attending the iftar gathering and representing the FTUI leadership.

The next remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Dalhar Susanto. He expressed his gratitude for the invitation and conveyed apologies on behalf of Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, PhD, Dean of FTUI, who was unable to attend as he was traveling back to Jakarta from Saudi Arabia after completing the Umrah pilgrimage. He noted that Lemtek UI has consistently maintained its position as the second-highest revenue-generating Special Community Service Activity Unit (UKKPPM) within Universitas Indonesia for the past two years. In 2025, the total revenue generated by 55 UKKPPM units across Universitas Indonesia (excluding RSUI) reached approximately IDR 830 billion. Lemtek UI ranked second after LPEM UI, contributing more than 10 percent of the total revenue generated by all UKKPPM units within the university.

He further highlighted that in 2025, FTUI successfully exceeded the performance contract targets set by Universitas Indonesia, and Lemtek UI played an important role in supporting that achievement. Universitas Indonesia has also established a new performance contract for FTUI in 2026, and it is hoped that Lemtek UI, as a UKKPPM unit under FTUI, will continue to contribute significantly by achieving performance results that surpass the targets set.

Following the remarks, a joint prayer was led by Mr. Zumri, after which the participants broke their fast together. The attendees then performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation at the Lemtek UI prayer room located on the second floor of the building, followed by a communal dinner.

The iftar gathering holds special significance in Islamic tradition as an act of worship, reflecting one of the deeds most beloved by Allah—providing food to those who fast. It also represents the spirit of Ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) and serves as a meaningful occasion to strengthen togetherness and seek blessings through shared fellowship.

From Conventional Layouts to Efficient Workspaces: Technical Planning for the Renovation of the Ditjen EBTKE Building
Project Owner :
The workspaces covering approximately ±1,999 m² on the 7th, 8th, and 8th Mezzanine floors of the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (Ditjen EBTKE) building are still predominantly characterized by permanent partition-based layouts, high reliance on artificial lighting, and uneven distribution of cooling systems. These conditions limit the effective use of natural daylight, reduce indoor air circulation quality, and directly contribute to increased electrical energy consumption as well as suboptimal thermal comfort for occupants.

In response to organizational restructuring and the growing demand for coordination-oriented work patterns, Ditjen EBTKE has initiated a technical planning process for interior renovation based on an energy-efficient open space concept. This planning effort is aligned with national energy conservation policies as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 70 of 2009, Presidential Instruction No. 13 of 2011, and the Central Government Green Building Roadmap, and is carried out in collaboration with the University of Indonesia through the Institute for Technology at the University of Indonesia (Lemtek UI) as the technical planning executor.

The scope of work includes existing condition surveys, analysis of spatial and system requirements, and the preparation of comprehensive technical planning documents, covering open space layout concepts, architectural and interior working drawings, utility systems, lighting, and HVAC, along with detailed technical specifications and cost estimates. These documents are structured to serve as a measurable and reliable technical reference for subsequent physical renovation works, with a clear focus on energy efficiency and controlled functional performance of the workspace.
